At first the lines weren't clean or crisp at all. It was paint roughly pushed and scruffed onto different kinds of surfaces. Subject matter was never consistent, nor was his style. Everything created was built by everything he had learned. Every style, and every color.
Of course learning about art you take everything from the artist before you. Corbo was no exception to this behavior. Painting on garbage, surrealism with impressionistic brush Strokes, Van Gogh and H.R. gigers love child. til it became what it is now.
Zygomatic Studios was the cocoon that matured him. A place filled with endless inspiration, and the space to chase after it. 1400 square feet of creative fortitude. No idea was safe from coming to fruition. Everything was recorded. Everything was drawn, painted, written, photographed, filmed, pressed, printed, built, preserved, and hoarded.
Cubism was the favorite of all. He could disguise what he didn't know about art with everything he loved about it. He had adapted to one style and felt threatened to have to paint the same way his entire career. The temptation to abuse a style to the point of comfort and ease was frightening, not enlightening.
He later Cleaned up the roughness, and stopped painting on garbage. boy those days were fun, he remembers. After a short 20 year stint becoming a chef he returned to the art world with an uncontrollable urge to create and never have to make painting a side job, or just something to do to pass the time.
